    Run Away

    Window down, elbow out

Radio up a little bit to loud

    Open road, save my soul

Pass on the past let the future be told

    I, I, I, I… I’m taking it all in one stride

    Leaving it all behind, cause

I, want to run away, run away

Why, don’t you run away, run away

With me, we could run away, run away

And the further we roam the closer to home

Even if we get lost along the way

Cross the sea, far and  wide

Break on through to the countryside

    Greener grass, bluer skies

Whiter clouds for the clouded eye and

    If I leave right away

Would you help me make my getaway?

I, want to run away, run away

Why, don’t you run away, run away

With me, we could run away, run away

And the further we roam the closer to home

Even if we get lost along the way

Every time I find myself behind

    Life’s little side lines

Got to get on, got to get gone

Roots start unraveling got to get traveling on

I, want to run away, run away

Why, don’t you run away, run away

With me, we could run away, run away

And the further we roam the closer to home

Even if we get lost along the way

I, want to run away, run away

Why, don’t you run away, run away

With me, we could run away, run away

And the further we roam the closer to home

    Just For Tonight

I like the way, you cradle your coffee

and how you laugh a bit too loud

I like the way you dance, when you think no one's watchin

and that face halfway between a smile and a frown

I like the way, you are always up for drinking

and when you gently say my name

You're never shy, to eat right off my plate

I hope you know I'd do the same.

    (chorus)

I don't know if I could love you,

But I'll definitely set aside some time

and I don't mind if you are not, "the one"

cause for now you are the one, that's on my mind

    so just kiss me,

    baby just kiss me

even if, even if, it's just for tonight

I like your eyes, when you are telling me a story

and how sometimes you drift away

It doesn't matter how you dress for the occasion

when you wear that smile, it will always brighten my day

I want to get to know your, imperfections

and stay up late, watching your t.v.

I want our noses, to get cozy

and our eyes to close, so we can't see

    Chorus

    inst. solo

    Chorus

    Super Hero

This time, you'll never get away

with this crime, think you can hide away

    I found your secret lair

I caught you fair and square

Can we stop playing this game

give up the fight, baby tell me your name

cause you're a villain that's willing now hunny don't be shy

or act surprised when we start to fly, cause I'm a

Super hero, living my life for justice baby

Super hero, saving the world for just us baby

Super hero, we could fly away

why don't you let me, save your day

You'd better, recognize who you're up against

you're shaking me off with your best defense

you gotta cold shoulder and freezing eyes

I use x-ray vision see through your disguise

Come on baby tell me how do you feel

you can't last long 'gainst the man of steel

make up your mind, I got saving to do

I wouldn't be a super hero if I only saved you

    Chorus

    Solo

    Chorus

We could fly away, why don't you let me save your day.

    Distracted

If I seem a little lost, a bit mixed up

    Or in total disarray

Don’t be alarmed I’m in no harm

I’m just getting through my day

And as soon as it all comes back into focus

Clearly I will see that I’ve been blind-

    Sided by my own desires

    I’m so close, to falling

    My tongue keeps stalling

I don’t know what to do anymore

I don’t know what to say

Every time that I try to move on

Your eyes get in my way

Give me a minute or two before you continue

I’ll be sure that I pay close attention

And if you tell me the rules

I’ll go back to grade school

And try not to land in detention

Ain’t it something, and I don’t know why

I lose my mind when I see you

Nothing I know, can tear me away

Leave me estranged like you do

    It looks like, you’re leaving

    But looks are deceiving

I don’t know what to do anymore

I don’t know what to say

Every time that I try to move on

Your eyes get in my way

    I’m so distracted

I’m so, distracted by your eyes

I don’t know what to do anymore

I don’t know what to say

Every time that I try to move on

Your eyes get in my way

    Get out of my way

    Get out of my way

    Sunny Day

It is, early in the afternoon

halfway through the month of June

in a park, in a small town

There are, blankets laid out on the ground

    not another soul around

at a picnic, just for two

and I'm, too nervous to ask it

as you take, the ring from the basket

    I know what you'll say

    Some Sunny day

It is blue skies, with a light breeze

    warm at 78 degrees

on a day, on our day

Friends and family, jackets and ties

You’ll find me waiting with, butterflies

at the end, of the aisle

and you, all flowers and lace

beautiful, as the smile on your face

you'll say I do, and I'll say I do too

    Some sunny Day

it is cold outside, but warm indoors

the fire lights the hardwood floors

    in our den

a glass of wine, or two or three

we stay up all night just to fall asleep

    in each others' arms

and we, will always be together

    through, whatever we may weather

hope and we pray, clouds will give way

    to some sunny day

  • 05:12 Lyrics
    Bright Stars

I saw an angel through a doorway

She told me of her name

And though the syllables were hard to swallow

I spoke it just the same

In a dream, in a dream

    I saw a cannon in a courtyard

    Sat smoking like a liar

Though it held onto rain water

    It’s purpose was for fire

In a war, in a war

    Bright stars, fade away

    Bright stars, fade away

    I lost a lover from a distance

    Painfully bloodless

Now we speak as if strangers

    And fault ourselves for darkness

In the night, in the night

    Bright stars, fade away

    Bright stars, fade away

    Up Too Late

here's a problem I've been having that keeps me awake

The trouble is I'm always stayin' up too late.

With old t.v. re-runs and too much caffein,

internet chat rooms and junk food cuisine.

The later it gets, the more I resist

I'm an insomnimaniac psychopathic with a twist.

and I haven't had a bed time since nineteen-ninety three

Old Mr. Sandman forgot about me.

Oh, deary me, look at the clock it's a quarter past three

Oh, my my my, It's such a chore just to shut my eyes

Oh, I'll never win, looks like I stayed up too late

    Again

If I lay in my bed, I'll just lay awake

thinking about all of those old cable bills I should pay

My eyeballs are drying up out of their sockets

I keep a little bottle of no-doze in my pocket

I'm crazy, insane, I'm doing just fine

ain't found a better way to waste my time

I never wake up till sometime round mid-day

Everybody's telling me I'm sleepin my life away

    Chorus

I stay quiet as a mouse, don't bother no one

I make a wish list to accomplish and get some things done

But I always end up, distracted and bored

I play hours of pinball trying to beat my high score

I make lots of new friends, at least on myspace

I spent 45 minutes trying to get a good picture of my face

Gotta break this sleep cycle, and rearrange my fate

But I'll get to that tomorrow cause tonight it's too late

    Chorus X 2

    Waiting On You

    lately I been wondering, what's a coming

    what's gonna happen,

am I only wasting time that I don't own

Lately I been thinking, why you thinking?

when you should be doing something

    You're better off alone

    I should have known,

that the start should've been the end

    cause she's just a heartbreak

    waiting to happen

Day in, and out I spend

Waiting on tomorrow, waiting on the next day

for you to finally feel the same way

but baby if you decide, you're gonna let it slide

Me and my pride will step aside

Cause it's high time that my time was put to better use

    instead of waiting on you

Lately I've been confused feelin' abused used and bruised

am I barking up a tree that don't want me

Lately I've been praying  you would stay and say it changed

and tell me I'm the only one who holds the key,

    I should have known,

that the start should've been the end

    cause she's just a heartbreak

    waiting to happen

    every day I spend

Waiting on tomorrow, waiting on the next day

for you to finally feel the same way

but baby if you decide, you're gonna let it slide

Me and my pride will step aside

Cause it's high time that my time was put to better use

    instead of waiting on you

If you gonna let me go

    then just, let me know

I can't keep waiting, waiting, waiting,

on tomorrow, waiting on the next day

for you to finally feel the same way

but baby if you decide, you're gonna let it slide

Me and my pride will step aside

Cause it's high time that my time was put to better use

    instead of waiting on you

  • 03:53 Story Lyrics
    Long Goodbyes

Whenever we get together to spend time,

    we never need a plan

The car radio makes the parking lot the perfect

    place to dance

When time is fun it flies too fast, but

we found a way to make it last

    By saying those long goodbyes

they make the night a little longer

and it ain't no big surprise

how quickly time begins to wander away

    in your eyes

in the middle of long goodbyes

We laugh and we joke on the phone all day

    and sometimes late at night

and though we're miles apart we share the same

    cellular light

it's time for bed but even so

you know it's hard to let you go, before

    Saying those long goodbyes

To make the night a little longer

    Even if we both try

to check the minutes that we

    squander away, rely

    on another long good bye

Darling if you feel the same,

then there's no need to explain

    why we postpone

    being alone.  and stay......

When, we've said out last goodnight

you know we'll want to say it one more time

    (Repeat 1st chorus)

  • 04:20 Lyrics
    Paper Hearts

I can tell by silence I should go

There’s no use in standing in the cold

Through the glow of blurred streetlights

I think I thought I caught your eyes

    Chorus:

Don’t send me roses full of thorns

    Send me paper hearts

Don’t leave me empty greeting cards

    Leave me paper hearts

Take the photos down from off the wall

Funny how this shoebox holds them all

Kill the flowers for the weeds

    Love outweighed by our misdeeds

    Chorus

This is hard enough without the hope

Give me room to breath and time to cope

    Chorus

I can’t keep turning back to you

I can’t keep turning back to you

I can’t keep turning back to you

Don’t leave me don’t leave me

    Leave me paper hearts

  • 04:34 Lyrics
    Rainy Days

She comes into town, maybe twice a year

Spend a little time, drink a little wine, bend my ear

Shared old memories found and retold, a thousand times over and then

we claim passionate midnights, till she's gone again

    (chorus)

I wonder if she knows, that I think of her on rainy days

every time the wind blows, in the clouds colored grey

although she goes, and I stay, she's with me on

    rainy days

She tells me not to wait, not to hesitate to find another lover

good advice that's forgotten underneath the covers

and I know she may find someone, in the world when she leaves me behind

But, even on the brightest of days, she's still overcasting my mind

    (chorus)

It is early in this Thunderstorm

To push the thought, of someone warm, away

Saving our love, for a sunny day

    (chorus) x 2

  • 05:02 Lyrics
    Soldier

    I am a soldier

    In the army of love

    Always on the front lines

    Without a gun

But I can’t stay in the trenches

I’ll get buried in the dirt

So I, run on to the battlefield

And try not to get hurt

I try to make some ground,

and claim my victory, but I am

Shot down, Shot down, where I stand

Shot down, Shot down, with a white flag in my hand

    I am alone here

In my army of one, love

It’s not winter, but it’s cold here

As my fingers find the blood

I try to pray to God,

But all my voices fail, I am

    (Chorus)

Oh, there’s no love in war

Oh, is love what we’re fighting for

Oh, I’m trading love for war

Oh, love’s what I’m dying for

    And I am

    (Chorus)
